Author Guidelines

Transnational Asia publishes two issues a year. The journal is divided into main articles, special sections, and review articles. All main articles, including articles in special issues, are peer-reviewed. Special sections contain groups of articles collaboratively engaging with one theme. Review articles are a scholarly evaluation and interpretation of one or more books and other forms of publications by other scholars. Not all issues carry all three genres. Some issues may have extra editorial commentaries. All issues of Transnational Asia will be published on web only. All back issues will be accessible on the journal website.

As a web-only journal, Transnational Asia maintains flexibility regarding article format. Transnational Asia accepts articles in either social scientific or humanistic citation format. Articles should be about 5,000 to 8,000 words in length, and an abstract of about 250 words summarizing the author's work should also be included. The inclusion of visual and audio-visual materials is particularly welcome. Authors are asked to secure any necessary publication rights for all audio-visual content submitted by the time of publication. Transnational Asia does not accept for publication articles that have already been published elsewhere. If an author wishes to submit a previously published article that has been substantially revised, the author must first contact the editorial office for discussion.
